In the realm of fly fishing, trout and salmon flies serve opposing purposes. One aims to mimic food, while the other triggers a 'get out of my way' reaction. While theories abound regarding the science of fish biology, I believe it's not just about the right time and place. Drawing from my experience, optimizing your fishing starts with the fly.
My flies have proven successful, often outperforming regular patterns. These stories, documented in fishing logbooks across Iceland, speak for themselves - they work! Some even rank as top sellers in Icelandic fishing stores.
Rather than renaming existing designs, I strive to create unique patterns that fill gaps in my approach. I respect others' designs and avoid duplication. By crafting flies in my own way, I can shape, fill, and incorporate attractors as I see fit.
However, I also appreciate the abundance of excellent flies available, and I enjoy using them with great results. I love diving into classic patterns as well as seeing the talented young tiers creations
