This fly was crafted in response to a special request from my 11-year-old fishing buddy, Guðmundur, from Husavik. He is an exceptionally talented and vibrant young boy whom I always enjoy fishing with. When Guðmundur asked me to create a fly for him, I agreed, with the condition that he would name it. The endearing boy came up with the name "Helvítís Guðmundur."
Designed to shine in conditions where the optimal fly choice is uncertain, Helvítís Guðmundur boasts a vibrant palette of colors. Whether it's the time of day, lighting, the presence of freshly run or old fish, this fly is designed to cover a spectrum of colors. Just like the lively personality of the boy it was named after, it's a colorful and versatile fly.
