I’m Nils Folmer Jørgensen - a lifelong angler and designer.
Originally from Denmark, I’ve spent decades fishing across the world - from the tropics to the tundra - before finally settling in Iceland in 2007, a place I once visited seven times a year. Eventually, it simply became more practical to move here. It’s the finest fishing playground I know.

Known for a perhaps borderline-insane dedication, I spend countless days each season chasing fish across rivers and oceans. My life has been a fortunate blend of passion and profession - earning a living mostly in the tackle industry where I design gear, build brands, and connect anglers and businesses worldwide.

I’m humbled to have received six international tackle design awards. My work has appeared through collaborations with Simms, Loop, Nautilus, Scierra, Einarsson, Mustad, Savage Gear, Svendsen Sports, and Nordic Field Sport. Over the years, I’ve written, appeared in films and TV, and spoken at events across the globe - all fueled by the same fascination that began when I picked up my first fly rod at age 11. Here some inspiration

In Iceland, I’ve earned a modest reputation for landing big salmon - 51 fish over 100 cm as of 2025 - and for designing some of the country’s most effective fly patterns, including the Autumn Hooker, Erna, Radian, and Olive Ghost. See the flies here

I fish year-round across the world, with four to five saltwater trips in the colder months - but my summers belong to Iceland’s incomparable salmon rivers. Norway and Scotland remain close to my heart; they’re where my salmon journey began. Whether casting for salmon at home or chasing tarpon and permit abroad, fishing continues to be my grounding force and daily inspiration.

PHILOSOPHY

Fishing has taken me to breathtaking places and introduced me to remarkable and at times crazy - people : ) Crazy people are usually the oene who dare and make a difference.
It remains a constant lesson in humility, patience, and respect for nature - values I strive to pass on through my work and community efforts. I support conservation and animal welfare and aim to foster a positive, collaborative spirit within our sport. Fishing, a universal language, unites individuals across diverse backgrounds.
I also work voluntarily with the North Atlantic Salmon Fund and the Icelandic Wildlife Fund, supporting their important efforts to protect our fish and wild life environments.

If you’re interested in seminars, presentations, consulting, or product design, feel free to reach out. On rare occasions, I also offer VIP guiding and hosted trips. I remain proudly independent, not tied to any brand, and always happy to offer honest, experience-based advice.

Remember, life is playfulness
